A look at Bulls ticket market as they deal with injuries in March

The bad news for the Chicago Bulls keeps piling up, as Jimmy Butler left Sunday’s 96-86 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers after hyperextending his left elbow. Although he isn’t having surgery, Butler is expected to miss three to four weeks.

The Butler setback is the latest for a team that cannot shake the injury bug. Taj Gibson missedSunday’s game after spraining his left ankle in Friday night’s win against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Gibson left the United Center on Sunday wearing a walking boot and has already missed time this season because of the same injury.

Derrick Rose is expected to be out for four to six weeks after having a meniscus operation on his right knee on Friday. Rose is expected to be back in time for the beginning of the playoffs. On a smaller scale, Pau Gasol remains under the weather after playing through sickness on Sunday.

The Bulls are a half game ahead of the Cleveland Cavaliers in the Central division, and it’ll be difficult to fend them off with the injuries. They will be in a battle for the fourth seed in the East to be able to host a playoff series at the United Center.

According to TiqIQ.com, below are some of the most and least expensive average ticket prices for Chicago Bulls games remaining in the month of March.

3/13/2015 | Charlotte Hornets vs. Chicago Bulls | Avg: $234.98 | Get-in: $15

The game with the highest average ticket price in the month of March for the Bulls is a road game against the Charlotte Hornets on March 13th at Time Warner Cable Arena. It is Swarm Jersey giveaway night, so the fans will be out in full force. Charlotte is in contention for the seventh of eighth seed of the playoffs, so they still have plenty to play for.

3/28/2015 | Chicago Bulls vs. New York Knicks | Avg: $218.27 | Get-in: $57 | Chicago Parking: $20

This is the most expensive average ticket price for a Bulls home game at the United Center on their schedule in March. The New York Knicks are in contention for the No. 1 overall pick in the 2015 draft, as they currently hold the worst record in the NBA. Even with a depleted roster for the time being, the Bulls should be able to handle the Knicks.

3/11/2015 | Philadelphia 76ers vs. Chicago Bulls | Avg: $75.77 | Walk-in: $11

The least expensive average ticket price for a Bulls game in March is when they go to the Wells Fargo Center and face the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers are one game “behind” the Knicks for the worst record in the NBA, and made a few moves at the trade deadline to do their best to finish last. The Bulls, even without Rose and Butler, will not waste important wins to teams like the 76ers.

3/3/2015 | Chicago Bulls vs. Washington Wizards | Avg: $152.22 | Get-in: $22 | United Center parking: $10

The lowest average ticket price for a Bulls game in March at the United Center is against the Washington Wizards on Taj Gibson bobble head giveaway night. The Wizards are 3-7 in their last 10 games and are looking for anything to turn their mojo around. Facing a depleted Bulls team may be their launching point. Assuming the Cavs pass the Bulls, the Bulls and Wizards will be competing for the fourth seed for a home court advantage in a playoff series.

Fans from out of town heading in to Chicago for one or more of these games may consider checking out some of the tourist attractions throughout Chicago as well. As with parking at the United Center, through ParkWhiz fans can find discounted Navy Pier parking as well.

The Bulls try to stay afloat with their recent rash of injuries. Whether they will be competing for a division title or the chance to host a home playoff series, all games will matter down the stretch for the Bulls.
